Labarthe : rain again ....
Tuesday 22th May 2012
Here is how the last two rounds of the Women’s French Championship went for Team One One Four.
One week ago we traveled to La Voulte. Livia had another great weekend, setting the fastest time in qualifying practice. She went undefeated all day with 3 holeshots and 3 moto wins, stretching out her lead in the championship points. Megane woke up Sunday feeling really sick and not 100%. It was a difficult weekend for her, but she soldered through the day salvaging as many championship points she could finishing 8th overall, unfortunately this would drop her outside of the top 3 in the championship points.
After the mud race in St Nolff, we thought that the track conditions couldn’t get any worse. This weekend at Labarthe would prove us all wrong.
When the team arrived Saturday morning, the riders discovered a nice track with a lot of elevation changes and perfect racing conditions. The tracked looked really good, before the skies opened up and the rain began to fall Saturday night. After a riders meeting Sunday morning, because of the track conditions a unanimous decision was made to have only one timed practice for qualifying. Out of the 30 riders, only 11 of them manage to do a complete lap. Livia and Megane would qualify 1st and 2nd.
Only 17 girls would line up for the start of the first moto. Livia grabbed holeshot and lead the whole race, lapping as far up as 4th place. At the checkers it was Livia in 1st followed by her teammate Megane in 2nd.
Unfortunately due to the deteriorating track conditions the following two motos would be cancelled.
Livia and Megane would leave Labarthe with 1st and 2nd overall.
It was another good weekend for the team, and both riders are looking forward to racing next weekend in Brou.
Until then, Livia will be training for Supercross in preparation for Xgames, while Megane continues to work hard
to take back her spot on the podium in the championship points.
See you next weekend at BROU
